The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Foreign Hacking Hacking

Russia's foreign ministry has been subjected to a 'massive scale' cyber attack in June this year. The attack was carried out from Iran and Hungary, said spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

On Friday, Zakhorova said the attack was carried out on the mail server of the ministry on June 29. The Russian daily Moscow Times reported that the results were 'harmful'.

Through this attack, hackers take access to the mailed transaction between the ministry staff. Zakhorova told reporters in a briefing on a regular basis.

For the first time, the Russian Foreign Ministry acknowledged that their servers were "successfully" hacked - it has been reported in the ANS report.

In October 2016, a US hacker proudly claimed that he successfully entered the Ministry's website. Zakharova said that the hacker noticed an old version of the site.

Zakharova said 88 percent of the visitors who visited the site were cyber-attackers, who used to use US IP addresses.

The country's other spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in January this year that this website is experiencing 'hundreds to thousands' attacks every day. These attacks are coming from different countries including China, India, and EU.
